Priscilla Perotti Igram studied art in high school and a bit in college, and learned to paint on
her own. Priscilla was inspired early on by her mother’s promotion of immigrant artists in
Cleveland, Ohio. As a child Priscilla spent time at her mother’s non-profi t arts organization
called Peoples and Cultures, which sold artwork by recent immigrants to Cleveland
and offered tours into various ethnic neighborhoods. Priscilla was also inspired by her
grandmother, Esther Hepler Inglesby, a Philadelphia area
Works Progress Administration
(W.P.A.) artist hired by the Roosevelt Administration in the 1930’s. Esther focused on
nursery rhyme illustrations with themes of political satire. Her whimsical illustrations brought light to an
otherwise darker period of time following the Depression and just prior to World War II. Esther went to the
Philadelphia Museum School and when she had three children of her own began painting portraits of people, houses
and pets. Priscilla followed in her grandmother’s footsteps by taking art courses at
Kenyon College in Ohio and at
Shaker Heights High School in Ohio, winning awards. Priscilla has also taken art courses at
Silvermine Art School in
Norwalk, CT, and other smaller workshops.
Priscilla and her husband Ab have three children and live in Fairfield, CT. Like her grandmother, she enjoys paintingportraits.
Initially, she began with just pets, because she thoroughly enjoys the bond between the pet and owner --
the profound love many people have for their pets truly inspires her. She has since branched out and has developed
a knack for painting people and really enjoys working with clients to create their dream portrait.
Her outside interests include biking (she has led three bicycle tours across the United States as a tour leader through
Overland Adventure Travel in Williamstown, MA), running, and hanging out with her friends and family. Priscilla is also
a graphic designer.
