How It Works

Find your favorite photographs of the subject (the more, the better--at least 5 is preferable, but I understand this may not be possible).

I will work with you to determine the best pose, composition, feeling you want to convey. Depending on our time frame I will set the painting up in photoshop and email or mail you a mock-up of the composition. Once we’ve agreed on that, you’ll receive a photo of the painting when it’s completed so that you can make revisions if needed. Paintings will be painted in high quality acrylic paint on a gallery wrapped canvas. The gallery wrapped canvas allows you to choose whether to frame the painting or not. The edge is painted as part of the painting to create more of a three dimensional effect (example shown below of a black lab).

The background may be basic, or more elaborate, depending on how you’d like to portray your pet.

Call or email me to schedule your order. Once your photograph and a 50% deposit check is received, I will begin the portrait. Painting times can take one to two months to complete or more on large canvases (30” x 40” or larger). Faster turnaround is possible. Rush charges apply. Please call for pricing. Prices are based on square inches (the larger the canvas, per square inch price goes down) and how your pet will be portrayed. Larger paintings may require longer time for completion.
